Do pharmacists only work in retail?

One of the fastest growing areas of pharmacy practice is actually in hospitals and clinical settings. Where the degree offers a variety of career options and areas of focus, in clinical specialities including, ambulatory care, cardiology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, pediatrics or psychiatric pharmacy.

Is a Pharm.D. a terminal degree?

Obtaining a Pharm.D. is the highest level of pharmacy practice education. After graduation, our students are experts in the field of pharmacy and have earned the maximum amount of education for this field. Lipscomb offers Pharm.D. students three Master's dual degree options as added value to their education.

Do I have to be a chemistry major?

No. In fact, more students with biology backgrounds pursue pharmacy. However, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Nutrition and Kinesiology, to name a few, also prepare students very well.
