School of Dance
Lipscomb Academy School of Dance, established in 2018, provides convenient after-school dance instruction by trained dance professors, professionals and choreographers in the Nashville community. Highly qualified dance instructors will guide students as they learn the technique and artistry of dance as well as performance and storytelling. LASD gives students the opportunity to grow in their talents, infuse dance into the arts community at Lipscomb Academy and to glorify God by telling truthful stories through dance.
Classes in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, modern, contemporary and musical theater will be offered this year for grades K-12. The year of dance will culminate in a Dance Showcase where students will perform for parents, friends, and family.
The School of Dance is directed by Kari Smith. Smith is Lipscomb Academy’s upper school theater director, a theater and dance instructor at Lipscomb University and co-director of the University’s Foundation Dance Theatre and annual dance concert Elevate.
