Eating
Nashville’s food scene is absolutely delectable.
Widely hailed as a cultural hub, Nashville is gaining recognition for its diverse food and drink offerings — even locals struggle to keep up with the first-rate restaurants that seem to be opening in Nashville daily. From specialty tacos to the city’s latest staple, hot chicken, there’s always something new to try. Nashville’s coffee culture is similarly thriving — after four years here, you likely still won’t have visited every coffeehouse in town.
One of the city’s favorite coffee shops, The Well Coffeehouse, was founded as a nonprofit by Lipscomb professor Rob Touchstone, who currently serves as the director of Lipscomb’s Center for Business As Mission. Every cup of coffee sold goes to help build clean water wells for developing countries. The business model for The Well has sparked a chain reaction of innovation across the Lipscomb community that spills into the city, creating opportunity for entrepreneurship students to find steady footing in Nashville.
Here are a few of our favorite cafes and eateries just a short drive (or walk) away to get you started on your culinary adventure, from small bites to meat ‘n’ threes or international fare.
