Nashville

A great place to be a student. The perfect place to be a local.

Our hometown is an amazing place.

Nashville. Music City. Smashville. 615. The Athens of the South.

In our secluded neighborhood of Green Hills, Lipscomb’s Christ-centered community is just a few miles from downtown with the added benefits of restaurants, shopping and abundant green space right in our backyard. At Lipscomb, you can engage the city through internships, service-learning and volunteer opportunities in communities and organizations all over the city. You can play a part in Lipscomb’s integral role of shaping the city through meaningful experiences that provide an interdisciplinary network to open doors when you graduate.

Home to musicians, major corporations, college students and professionals, Nashville is a city on the rise featuring professional sports, world-class museums, parks, nature and local restaurants. As a Lipscomb student, you’ll be in the middle of the action with quality of life and dynamic experiences unlike anywhere else.

Faculty-Student Partnerships

The J.S. Ward Society sponsors the prestigious Ward Summer Research Fellowship, paring a student studying the natural sciences with a faculty member for a meaningful one-on-one research experience.
Through CEA Studios, students can work with faculty on film, music recording, animation and graphic design projects.

A Community of Service

During our annual QuestWeek Service Day students are introduced to our tradition of service with an afternoon dedicated to serving the Nashville community with local organizations like Safe Haven, Youth Engagement Services, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Carestone Assisted Living and Madison Church of Christ Christian Care Center among others. But service isn’t just a day at Lipscomb, it’s a way of life.

Unique Learning Experiences

Through a partnership with the Debra K. Johnson Rehabilitation Center, the LIFE program offers a one-of-a-kind learning experience that develops self-confidence, character, knowledge and compassion by studying alongside students pursuing a Lipscomb degree in prison.

A Friendly City for Work and Play

Nashville boasts more than 2 million people and 60,000 businesses in health care, technology, finance and, of course, music and entertainment. In fact, The Wall Street Journal has ranked Nashville one of the hottest job markets in the country, making it an ideal destination for life after college.

At Lipscomb, you get a head start on making connections in this thriving city that is home to more than 75,000 college students.

Amazon, Deloitte, HCA Healthcare, Nissan and Sony Music are just a few of the major employers where you’ll find Lipscomb alumni leading and working to shape the future of their industries. And with your Lipscomb degree, you’ll have a respected degree and a network that has your back, opening doors to opportunity. Within six months of graduation, 95% of Lipscomb graduates land a job or attend graduate school.

Even though Nashville has become a destination for businesses and individuals alike, it’s still “a Southern City with a small town feel.” That’s according to Conde Nast Traveler, which named our city one of the 10 friendliest in the U.S., where you’ll find adventures and experiences at every turn along with a warm welcome.

A world of opportunity at your doorstep.

Check out our Nashville city guides for a variety of activities and attractions where Lipscomb students and locals alike can be found experiencing the city.
