Nominate a Nashville business or business leader for a 2017 Business with Purpose Award

Lipscomb University, along with the Hilton and Sallie Dean Institute for Corporate Governance and Integrity, present the 2017 Business with Purpose Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, September 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at Nashville's Music City Center, and nominations are still open for submission. 

This year, the Lifetime Leadership Award will be presented to Tractor Supply Company and its three CEOs: Joe Scarlett, Jim Wright and Greg Sandfort.

From now until August 1, 2017, you can nominate additional award recipients in the following categories:

  • Public company;
  • Large private company (250+ employees);
  • Small private company;
  • Nonprofit organization; and
  • Servant Leader.

Recipients will be chosen by an independent committee of Nashville business leaders chaired by Alfonzo Alexander, President of NASBA’s Center for the Public Trust.

To submit a nomination, email aalexander@thecpt.org and include a brief statement to support your reasons for making the nomination. Nominees should have distinguished themselves as organizations or individuals with high integrity and a history of outstanding community service. Deadline to submit nominations: August 1, 2017.

The Business with Purpose Awards Luncheon will benefit the Dean Institute for Corporate Governance and Integrity, student scholarships and New Boardroom Briefings' monthly breakfast series for Corporate Directors.  

Tokens, a radio-style variety show founded by Lee Camp, a professor of theology and ethics at Lipscomb, will also provide entertainment at the September 12th event.
