Biography

As the chief enrollment officer for the university, Byron Lewis oversees undergraduate and graduate admission as well as student financial services. Prior to his appointment at Lipscomb, he served in several leadership capacities at SMU in Dallas, Texas including Associate Dean of Admission, Interim Dean of Admission and Executive Director of Enrollment Services. He has worked in K-12 and higher education since 2001, serving on the senior leadership team as Director of College Counseling in the Upper School at Greater Atlanta Christian and Associate Director of Admission at Freed-Hardeman University. His professional career also includes working in marketing and sales for Sony Music, Dell Inc., and May Company before beginning his career in higher education.

Lewis completed a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and a Masters in Ministry from Freed-Hardeman University. He has also completed post-graduate work in education at Tennessee Technological University and is a doctoral candidate in educational policy, planning and leadership at William & Mary in Virginia. A native of St. Charles, Missouri, he and his wife have three children.
